Who Are You?

Knit in Public! Occasionally, it makes people think you're famous. Photo by Modern Toile Photography.
I’m a writer and editor living in Alexandria, Va., with a cat and husband who don’t understand knitting. [They're perfectly nice beings; they just don't get the string-on-sticks thing.]
I learned to knit 20+ years ago, when I was 14. Some years I’ve been better at it than others. I’ve done some test knitting, written some patterns (two of which were published in this nifty book), and I teach knitting at fibre space, the knitting shop that grew out of Danielle Romanetti’s brilliant Knit-A-Gogo. I’m working on a book about knitting that will be published late this year.
But mostly I’m just a little knitter, getting more obsessed by the day, and trying to finish more projects than I start.
This blog is my shout to the universe: I’m a knitter! Anyone else out there?
Of course, I already know you’re there. So let’s play!
